Nomination Information for Schools

Each Missouri high school should receive an informational call letter by early November. If your school does not receive a letter or you need to update your school contact information, email missourileadership@gmail.com.

Each Missouri high school is allowed to nominate one (1) current sophomore student to attend the 2024 Missouri Leadership Seminar (MLS).

NOTE: Please also designate & retain a possible substitute for that student at the point of original nomination, in case the first student cannot attend so that your school can still be represented.

 Important Dates for MLS 2024 Schools:

  • Ambassador nominations: October 26, 2023 – March 31, 2024
  • Ambassador registration: February 5, 2024 – April 30, 2024
  • Seminar: May 31, 2024 – June 2nd, 2024
    • Ambassador check-in on UCM campus from 8-9am: May 31, 2024
    • Parent/Guardian ambassador pick-up: June 2, 2024

NOMINATION PROCESS

To complete the Nomination and Registration process, follow these simple steps:

1. Select an OUTSTANDING current sophomore student:

The selection method is left at the discretion of each school. Some suggestions may be to:

  • Host an essay contest in which students volunteer an essay answering a question like “What does it mean to be a leader for you?” or have every student complete a similar essay
  • Encourage teachers to nominate one student each that they believe would benefit from MLS as well as contribute to a positive environment there themselves
  • Allow interested students to meet with the school counselor(s) to discuss their interests in MLS and present why they would like to attend as individuals

2. Nominate your student online:

Should you need to change your nomination, please complete another online nomination form and contact missourileadership@gmail.com.

3. Nomination Confirmation & 2024 MLS Information Packet:

The Nomination Confirmation and the Information Packet (once available) will be emailed to the school contact who nominated the student and will also be available below. Emails are sent weekly to the schools that nominated that week. The school contact is responsible for informing the student of the nomination and giving the packet to the nominated student.

4. Have Your Nominated Student Complete Registration:

The 2024 MLS Registration Form must be completed online between February 5 and April 30, 2024. Full Registration instructions will be provided in the Information Packet and on the Student & Parents page.
